One of the main activities of OJSC Vityaz is the design and manufacture of tooling, and the equipment and production capabilities of the enterprise allow us to fulfill orders for the manufacture of molds and dies of a high degree of accuracy and complexity.
The tool shop of OAO Vityaz for its own needs and to order manufactures high-precision technological equipment - cold stamping dies, molds - expensive and complex units.
OJSC Vityaz provides a full range of production and technical services, starting with the development of a drawing and a mathematical model of a part, the manufacture of technological equipment, the production of finished products on it (casting or cold stamping) and ending with the assembly of the received parts into finished units.
Tooling design
The design of technological equipment takes place in the design and technology bureau. Previously, the drawings of the product are studied by the technologist in order to determine the possibility of its production in the specified way. At this stage, the feasibility of using the materials selected for the manufacture of the product is assessed, while taking into account the dimensions of parts with possible tolerances, production conditions, technological features of material processing and financial costs for it. To reduce the cost of production tooling and simplify its design, technologists and designers are considering possible changes in the components of the product design. After a joint compromise decision is made, the project is transferred to the customer for consideration and approval.
The tooling design process goes through several stages:
- Creating a 3D model of a manufactured product based on a product sketch, drawing or sample. In this case, the customer can be offered different ways of manufacturing the product. The resulting 3D model makes it possible to submit the product design for approval to the customer and evaluate the compliance of the modeled part with the expected final product. At the end of this process, the specialists begin to design the mold.
- Technological study, involving the study of molded and stamped parts. In the first case, a suitable material is selected and the gating system is optimized. To manufacture a product by stamping, it is necessary to determine the manufacturing technology and the sequence of production processes and operations, as well as the design of technological equipment:
- Development of tooling design (stamp and mold);
- Preparation of design and technological documentation for technological equipment;
- Approval of the project by the customer.
When designing tooling, the possibility and expediency of using unified tooling design elements are taken into account in order to:
- Reduce the time for blanking, turning, boring and drilling, which will make it possible to reduce the time for the production of molds;
- Reduce labor costs, as highly specialized equipment is not required in the production process of some elements;
